This Record Group comprises selected groups of periodicals published in Hungary, the USSR, France, Itlay, Yugoslavia and US in the course of 1939 -- 1945

Scope and Contents of the Materials

Overall, the selected publications reflect on the course of the Second World War and geopolitical situation in the world.

This Record Group consists of the following sub-collections: RG-79.01, Hungarian periodicals, 1939 -- 1945; RG-79.02, Soviet periodicals in Russian language, 1941 -- 1948; RG-79.03, French periodicals, 1939 -- 1945; RG-79.04, Italian periodicals, 1939 -- 1945; RG-79.05, Yugoslavian periodicals, 1939 -- 1945; RG-79.06, American periodicals, 1941 -- 1945.

Collection Historical Note

The content of these publications varies from openly pro-Axix (Nazi Germany and its allies) to the opposite concept propagated by the countries of anti-German (anti-Axis) Coalition. The Soviet periodicals is of specific totalitarian nature. There are also periodicals published by left-oriented and communist organization in the pro-German alliance.
