Historical Note: The GI Council of Frankfurt, Germany originated as an informal group under the guidance of milatry chaplains of Christian and Jewish denominations. The organization took the task of humanitarian assistant to civilian population wiht the special emphasis to Displaced persons camps population. The Council cooperated with the US European Command, UNRA, AJDC and other social and charitable establishments.
